AVIRA Security Management Center is a network-dedicated management program that turns specific AVIRA antivirus products into a solid, safe and stable security solution. It offers administrators with advanced capabilities of centralized and remote management of AVIRA software. The program has a simple and very intuitive interface. The IT Manager is able to control, update or access antivirus protection commands at network level. AVIRA Security Management Center permits remote installation, licensing, configuration, updating and monitoring of the supported AVIRA security solutions. It significantly alleviates the administrators\' workload, while reducing the operating costs for the AVIRA-protected networks. The entire communication between the program modules is performed through SSL encrypted connections, thus preventing any unauthorized actions that might endanger the network\'s integrity.
AVIRA Security Management Center has centralized view through Event Manager that records the events, reports and further information from the SMC Agents, saves them into a database and makes them available for display in the Security Management Frontend. The events can be filtered according to their security level class, type and the application that generated them. The program has Alert Manager which can sent information regarding current events, directly to an e-mail address or through Netsend, as a message window to a computer. For customized use and specific needs, Alert Manager permits free definition of notification rules. The program can be configured to retrieve product updates, to deploy them throughout the network, to scan processes, to delete or repair suspicious or infected files and to generate detailed reports of network events.
AVIRA Security Management Center provides frequent updates for the supported AVIRA products, virus definitions and scan engine, that can be downloaded and deployed from a central location in the network. The administrator can opt for manual or automatic updates, performed at regular intervals through the sheduling option. The program offers the possibility to outline report templates, for individual computers, groups or the entire network and are available comprehensive log files, offering information on all the operations in the security environment. It was developed as a snap-in for MMC (Microsoft Management Console) and the wide majority of network administrators will find themselves at ease with the product.
