Desktop Armor observes dozens of important settings on your computer and warns you if any program has changed them. It catches many of the changes a virus, worm or trojan program will make to your computer and helps you immediately fix them back. The program has a Popup blocker and checks to help you avoid Phishing Scams. These can be very official looking email messages and website, but Phishing Net checks a number of things to make sure you aren't being tricked. This program can be used to safely see some of the changes commonly made by malicious programs (like changing your browser's home page and making it hard to change it back). Desktop Armor is a program that's harder to see in action and is more like a virus scanner where it's hard to really see it work until the virus scanner pops up and says "Hey! I Found a Virus!" The program has Scoundrel Simulator program which you can use to safely see some of the changes commonly made by malicious programs (like changing your browser's home page and making it hard to change it back).
Desktop Armor helps you decide whether you want new icons or favorites added to your computer and whether you want something to run when Windows starts. The program has Bug Swatter that can automatically remove the Web Bugs from webpages as you surf the Internet. It has Popup Slapdown which is a popup window blocker for Internet Explorer that keeps all those ad windows from appearing and works simply (and even invisibly) in your web browser. When a popup window is detected and blocked, a sound will be played and the main Internet Explorer window will be flashed (you can change how those work if you don't want it to flash). Desktop Armor has Phishing Net that defends you from those Phishing Scams by alerting you are about to visit a suspicious website. It observes for many different things that Viruses and trojans and other Scoundrels will change on your computer.
