IsoPuzzle is a program which can recover damaged data, bad burned or scratched CDs/DVDs. Image files greater than 4 GB need to reside on a NTFS disk and to avoid dealing with large files you can use the "Import" function. In an "ISO" image are stored all readable data that can be read by various software like: Daemon-tools, WinRar-needs
iso-plugin and Nero Burning Rom. Every read sector is stored in the image file (*.ISO) and will be marked "good" in the coressponding "flag" file (*.FLG). When IsoPuzzle encounters a read error, a sector will be written which will remain marked "bad" and a random number of sectors are skipped for faster progress. At the end of the disk a retry loop will be entered until all sectors have been read or a selectable "Give Up Time" has been reached. You have the ability to select the "Source" drive and the "Destination" folder. The suggested filenames are taken from the DVDs volume label and the copy process can be interrupted at any time by clicking "Pause". With IsoPuzzle you can try to complete your image file on different machines with different CD drives and if you want to use different drives you can share the image file *.ISO (together with the flag *.FLG) on a network drive or put it on a portable disk (USB). When you started on machine "A" and no more data comes from your DVD, just copy ONLY(!) the *.FLG file, via USB stick, to machine "B" where you can select "Destination" folder, where the *.FLG is located. Then click "Start" and will create an "import file" *.IMP in the same folder. All the readable sectors are now stored here and after completion on "B" transfer the *.IMP to a location where it is accessible from machine "A" where can be merged into the existing *.ISO image with "Import File". At the same time some DVD drives report slightly different size of the same DVD/CD. IsoPuzzle supports only data CDs/DVDs with sector size of 2048 byte (Audio CD, VCD and SVCD are not supported).
