Backup Plus DVD Edition is a program that will help you backup your important data to all CD/DVD media types. It creates backup sets that contain full folders of files, individual files, wildcards and even exclude particular file types. The program has a built in CD/DVD burning engine and each backup can be performed right in Backup Plus DVD Edition or using a desktop shortcut or by setting the backup as a timed backup to be performed when you are not there. Backup Plus DVD Edition supports writing directly to the following CD/DVD media disc types: CDR, CDRW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM, Dual Layer DVD Media Discs. It helps you backup directly to CD/DVD media discs without the need to preformat discs or the use of UDF packet writing program. You can schedule your backups to happen automatically with the included Timed Backups Manager. It has been created specifically for CD/DVD use and when performs a backup, the backup is first stored to a local folder and then written to discs as required.
Backup Plus DVD Edition creates backup parts sized appropriately for the media you are writing to as it compresses the included data in your backup set, in archive format, before writing to disc. It has Restore Manager that will help you to open existing backup archives you have created and Settings Basic option that permits you to set some basic settings used within Backup Plus. Files and folders will be listed in the Restore Manager windows, permitting you to restore any of the items within the chosen backup archive. It has Email option that permits you to define Email settings for Backup Plus to email the defined address a copy of the Backup Report. Backup Plus DVD Edition has Test Backup option that gives you the ability to test any created backup archives for integrity. You must have enough free hard drive space to hold the entire backup before it is written to disc and the temporary backup files will be deleted after the backup is written to disc.
